Composite Engineer (Permanent or Intern)
Ubiq Aerospace is an ambitious tech startup based in Trondheim. Our focus so far has been to create a fully integrated electro-thermal ice protection system – purpose-built for uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) and the aircraft of tomorrow. This is just the beginning of our story, but things are really starting to happen.
We are looking to strengthen our Mechanical Team with a Composites Engineer who enjoys working on everything from design, development and hands-on production in a laboratory environment. We are open to applications from both experienced engineers looking for a permanent position and candidates looking for an internship (minimum 6 months).
The role can be tailored for the right candidate, but some of the responsibilities will be:
Design and development of composite structures for aerospace applications.
Selection of materials, lay-ups, and manufacturing methods to meet performance, weight, and durability requirements.
Hands-on involvement in composite manufacturing, including lay-up, curing, trimming, and inspection.
Development and optimization of manufacturing processes for prototypes and low-rate production.
Collaboration with mechanical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
Support testing activities, including structural tests and flight-related testing, and contribute to analysis of results.
Documentation of designs, processes, and test results in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.
Contribution to a safe, collaborative, and high-performing engineering environment.
